This must be the craziest cling film tip ever

I hope my last post got you fired up for 2012…

Or at least got the old grey matter whirring (or ticking, grinding – whatever noise a brain makes when it’s thinking hard).

If you’ve not read it yet, check it out here.

I’m a bit like one of those maniacs who jumps into the sea on Boxing Day. I like to start the year by diving right into projects, no matter how hard it seems after weeks of pies and animated Disney films.

This January, I’m going to start thinking about ways I – and some of the smartest, most successful people I know – can actively help you kickstart your path towards a better lifestyle.

I’m thinking about higher level mentoring, videos, reports and step-by-step guides that take you all the way from being in debt… to feeling comfortable (with those financial dogs at bay)…. to enjoying a bit of a disposable income…. to seriously changing your life in ways you could never imagine.

Does that sound like something you’d want to take part in? If so, let me know what kind of advice you’d like to receive in an ideal world. Whether it’s motivation, money saving ideas, kitchen table business ideas or methods of trading on eBay, Amazon… or even from your own mini online shop.

This will be just one part of what I aim to do for you this year…

The 3 keys to a richer life – a manifesto for 2012

As you know, the Rich Life Letter’s approach to wealth building is three pronged…

On one prong, it’s important to save extra money, get yourself out of the red, re-organise your life so that you’ve got some income to invest in moneymaking ideas and self-improvement.

On the second prong, finding ideas and ways of earning a little extra… £50 here, £100 there… little drips of money that start to build up in your bank, multiple income streams that make life that bit more comfortable.

And on the final prong, the really ambitious stuff that I was talking about on in my last post. The stuff that dreams are made of – freedom from a 9-5, the chance to be your own boss, the opportunity to kick-start a project you can be proud of.

My aim is to deliver you specific and useful information on ALL THREE LEVELS in 2012. From the really simple, basic steps you can take to start increasing your net worth… to the big blueprints, business ideas and part time sidelines.

And it’s never been more important to take action…

For the third year in a row, the country’s living standards is going to take another knock backwards.

The Treasury’s independent Office for Budget Responsibility says that ‘earnings growth is not expected to overtake inflation again until 2013 and not by a significant margin until 2014′.

And according to the Institute for Fiscal Studies, British households will be worse off in 2016 than when I started putting together notes the very first Rich Life Letter in 2006.

Why?

It’s thanks to a heady brew of rising food and fuel prices and high energy bills.

No wonder some people are turning to cling film…

WHAT? I hear you cry! …..CLINGFILM?

Well, yes, this has to be the maddest money saving tip I’ve seen in a while, and therefore the PERFECT tips for 2012.

According to a not-for-profit energy group called Ebico, single glazing windows are bad at keeping in heat, which means you have to spend more money on keeping your house warm.

Okay, so that’s not really news.

BUT…

Apparently a quick and almost-free shortcut is to put cling film over those single glazed windows. It stops drafts and adds a second barrier to help keep in heat.

Mad, but true.

It’s the sort of tip that might be useful if you rent and want a quick landlord-friendly solution to heat loss… you’re about to move home and need a stop-gap… or you’re simply not able to afford new windows or home improvements.

There you go – an opening moneysaving salvo for a year in which YOU will buck the trend and end up better off next year than you were last year.

How’s that for a goal?

Cheers for now,

Lewis
